JJ Ament
J. J. Ament was born and raised on his family’s farm & ranch in
Northeast Colorado. J. J. developed a strong work ethic and a deep
sense of community living in rural Colorado. These values were
strengthened by a decade of involvement in 4-H, the largest youth
development organization in America.
As a student at Caliche High School J. J. became involved in Future
Business Leaders of America (FBLA), the largest association for
business students in the world, and would later serve as the
organization’s Colorado, then national president.
J. J. went on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder where
graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
As a college student in the Presidents Leadership Class, J. J. founded POLITI-CO, a full service media and
political consulting firm, where he worked with countless political and business clients in Colorado and
throughout the nation. This experience helped pay his way through college while offering hands-on
experience in the business world. At its largest, POLITI-CO had a staff of nine and generated more than
$3 million in revenues. The company is still in business today.
As a young man, J. J. served the people of Colorado in the office of then-Congressman Wayne Allard in
Washington, D.C. reporting directly to the chief of staff. Then he worked for Congressman Scott
McInnis’ Washington, D.C. office assisting with the constituent needs of Colorado’s western slope.
For ten years, J. J. has worked as an investment banker specializing in public finance. His clients were
State Treasurers and other government CFOs from throughout the United States. During his career,
Ament has been engaged in more than $10 billion worth of transactions.
In Colorado, J. J. has led or co-managed numerous financial transactions. He worked with the
Department of Transportation to consolidate real estate holdings. He helped finance projects for
Colorado State University in Fort Collins and Pueblo, the University of Colorado, Mesa State College,
Colorado Springs Utilities. In 2008, he was hired as the senior banker for the state’s $231 million
investment in higher education projects.
Ali Hasan
A lifelong Republican, Ali Hasan was born in Pueblo and raised in Pueblo, Eagle, & Denver Counties. Ali is running for Colorado State Treasurer as a Republican in the 2010 election.
A candidate for public office in 2008, Ali Hasan ran as a Republican in Colorado’s House District 56, which encompasses Summit, Eagle, and Lake Counties. Ali received around 47% of the total vote, winning his home area of Eagle County, as well as receiving the endorsement of the Vail Daily, in running against Democratic incumbent Christine Scanlan. Of note, John McCain’s Presidential campaign received around 37% of the vote in House District 56, one of Colorado’s most liberal-leaning State House Districts. In gaining 47% of the vote, Ali demonstrated popularity with all voters, with his knocking on 22,000 doors throughout House District 56 as his proudest campaign work.
Ali Hasan is an award winning Film Director and Screenwriter. Hasan owns the film production company, RABIA LLC, a small business based in Colorado. In working as a filmmaker, Hasan has won 36 awards for his film directing, including Grand Jury Honors from the Provincetown Film Festival, Best Film Honors from the Breckenridge Festival of Film, and Honors from the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. Hasan’s latest film, RABIA, is currently being distributed worldwide by Elypse Films and has also been archived by the Brooklyn Arts Council into their permanent collection.
Hasan’s latest film, BENAZIR, a biopic about Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, is in development. The screenplay to BENAZIR, written by Hasan, has received recognition from Creative Screenwriting Magazine, through their AAA honors, as well as recognition from Script Savvy and The Writers Place.
Hasan has served as a public school teacher (TYRO) in Los Angeles at Franklin High School of LAUSD. As a political pundit, Hasan was a regular guest on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, as well as CNBC’s The Dennis Miller Show. Hasan has appeared frequently on Fox News and currently provides commentary to BBC Radio. Hasan’s political writings regularly appear in the Vail Daily.
An expert snowboarder, Hasan received his BA from Occidental College and a Masters in Film Directing from Chapman University. Hasan’s first political work was as a little boy in Pueblo, where he joined his mother in knocking on doors for Ronald Reagan back in 1984.
Hasan currently lives in Eagle County. Heroes are his parents, Dr Malik and Seeme Hasan. Ali also deeply loves his siblings, Asma, Aliya, and Rehan
Walker Stapleton
Stapleton is a 4th generation Coloradan and CEO of a publicly traded real estate company with offices in Colorado and California. In addition to his company Stapleton has several land, retail and residential investments throughout Colorado and serves on the board of Denver Public Library Foundation. Stapleton earned a bachelor’s degree from Williams College, a graduate degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard University. Stapleton, his wife Jenna and their one-year-old son, Craig, live in Greenwood Village. Jenna holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver .
