Babe Houser is a Woman Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine) that served in World War II. She enlisted in April 1943 and got out a Sergeant in September 1945. Babe is 95 years ‘young’. She was one of the first female Marines to attend boot camp at Hunter College in New York. They did not yet have a permanent facility to train women so they learned how to become a Marine on an old college campus. A few years later they would open up a training facility in Parris Island, South Carolina. Babe is very proud to have served her country and even prouder to have served in the Marine Corps. Oooh rah!!
