We are deep into the campaign season for federal, state, and local offices, and your engagement makes me so proud to be among you as a Douglas County Republican Woman!

  • The race for Congressional District 4 now includes two components:
    – to fulfill the rest of Congressman’s Buck’s term, through the end of the year, we have Republican Greg Lopez as our candidate;
    – for election to the next 2-year term that will begin in January, we have almost 10 Republican candidates.

The statewide and county races are equally interesting, with multiple candidates to choose from on the primary ballot. DCRW was out front with a forum for each of the major contested primary races.

At our April meeting, you will hear from Barbara Piper on the subject of the changing landscape, with a focus on her role as Vice Chair of the Republican Committee for Congressional District 4. She has served many roles in Republican politics at the national, state, county, and local level.

I encourage you to stay engaged. Learn as much as you can about the candidates, and talk to your friends and neighbors. Keep an eye on the legislature, and watch for information on proposed ballot measures.

More important in today’s times: Help us raise funds to support these candidates!  At our May meeting, shop at our Silent and Live Auction, featuring some amazing dinners and festive merch. Continue donating to our Small Donor Committee, with cash under $20 cash any and many times, and with a once-per-year $50 check. Our Republican candidates will appreciate your generosity, and all of us will appreciate the support for candidates who support our core values.
