A new day has dawned and it is now Morning in America! President Donald Trump apparently does not sleep since he has been working like the Energizer Bunny in the two weeks that he has been in office. He has accomplished so much it’s staggering. It’s such a shame and a disgrace really that the Dems are dragging their feet and doing everything in their power to stymy the confirmations of President Trump’s Cabinet choices. The vitriol that is spewed not only by elected officials but also by the Left is saddening and unbelievable. I don’t know about you, but the protests that continue to disrupt everything is really getting out of hand. I know you’ve all seen the protests on TV or social media, and while I certainly agree that we have the right to “peaceful” protest, when it reaches the point of hurting people, damaging property, and setting things on fire, I believe it’s gone too far. The last I heard we all have our 1st Amendment rights but the Left is also trying to stop any opposing viewpoints from even being heard. Oh, and the Hollywood elite . . . but that’s another story! I don’t know if this is ever going to stop. I can only hope that the general public sees what is going on and starts to push back on all this negativity. I could go on and on but I believe that most of you have the same feelings that I do. In my opinion, President Trump is doing a great job and he will Make America Great Again!
We had a great January program featuring our Douglas County Commissioners – Roger Partridge, Dave Weaver and Lora Thomas. We are so blessed to have all our great elected officials and so appreciate how they support DCRW. We are fortunate that they take time out of their busy schedules to come and report at our meetings whenever they are able to do so. If you don’t know our officials, be sure to attend the meetings so you can meet one-on-one with them.
Don’t forget that your 2017 Membership dues are now due! There is a Membership Application in this newsletter. DCRW can only keep $10 of your $25 regular member dues since we have to forward $15 to CFRW for their work and they then forward $5 of that on to NFRW for all their programs. So you see, we do need your support. We also have a large expense coming up in a few months when we have to print our 2017 Membership Directory. Hopefully, many of you will be able to take out an ad to help defray the printing costs . . . hint, hint.
We will be handing out a questionnaire at the next meeting to see if you would like to serve in any number of positions and/or activities associated with the smooth running of DCRW. There is a lot of work to do to “keep the ship afloat” and we always need volunteers! Remember, Republican women are the backbone of the Republican party and that also trickles down to the local RW clubs.
You won’t want to miss our February meeting where we’ll be treated to a GREAT lady . . . Babe Houser, a WWII Marine! We’ll also hear a short presentation by Douglas County School Board President Meghann Silverthorn and Vice President Judi Reynolds with updates concerning the School Board.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you on February 15th! Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Presidents’ Day!

Yours in Freedom and Liberty,

Marsha
